The Lanark Village Boat Club Incorporated (Boat Club) was
formed in 1961 as a non-profit social club and continues to be an important
part of the Lanark Village community. In addition to operating the boat
launching facilities, the Boat Club coordinates numerous events annually for members
and the general public:
New Year’s Day Memorial
Day Spring and Fall Bazaar Mother’s and Father’s Day
4th of July Labor
Day Monthly Pancake Breakfast Resident Member Christmas Party
Christmas Day Dinner
Without the Board oversight and members assistance,
these events would not be offered. The officers of the Board of Directors
(Board) are volunteers and serve for a one-year period – January 1 through
Whether you have been a long-time resident; are totally
new to the Lanark Village area; or currently are a weekender, consider this
opportunity. Being on the Board is not a full-time job. Being a part of the Board
is a very rewarding experience and a good way to give back to the community.
For 2019 there are now two vacant positions to still be filled - the Secretary position and the Ways and Means position. Note that without the Ways and Means Chairperson position filled, events like the monthly Pancake breakfast may not be held. The Ways and Means Chairperson coordinates with a number of volunteer members (there is a list) to put on events.
